Monday was the 100th day of school for my kids. I don’t remember doing this as a kids but my kids school goes all out. The younger grades we’re meet with a huge glittery banner and there were balloons and fun activities for the older kids. My son (1st grade) declared it the best! day! ever! Though I am sure that had a little to do with winning two of the games they played!
I’m guessing a few of you have your 100th day coming up this week as well so I thought I would share some of the fun things I found to help celebrate the day!
Tip Junkie has oodles and oodles of ideas for parents and teachers. Many of the classes have to bring in 100 somethings, above are just a few of the ideas that she has on the site.
This year we brought in a hundred Matchbox Cars as well as 100 chocolate chips. The chocolate chips won for having the shortest line of hundred things! Other ideas include:
- Cotton balls
- Hot Wheels cars
- Rubber bands
- Trading Cards
- Paper clips
- Sea shells
- Grains of Rice or noodles
I loved this t-shirt idea from Simply Modern Mom and even had all the supplies for it but my son wasn’t interested. Oh well, there’s always next year!
Have you celebrated the 100th day yet? What did you bring in?
