Interested in experiencing a little taste of France right here in Lake County?
Taste of Paris is a charming little cafe, located in the heart of Mundelein and has been bringing a little French flair to all who visit since opening in 2010. The Bouteille family, born in France, has resided in Mundelein since 1997, but the family operated a business out of Chicago. The long commute became tiresome, and the family decided to open the business here in the community in which they live. The restaurant began as a shared business with a pizza place that operated only at night. Taste of Paris opened its doors serving just breakfast and lunch. When the pizza place decided to close its doors, Taste of Paris was able to stay put in the same location and open its doors open all day.
A full-service restaurant, bakery and catering service, Taste of Paris is also a venue for private parties and events for up to 40 people, with a customized menu to fit your occasion. When you walk in the doors to the shop, you are immediately greeted by the warmth and friendliness of a small, local business. Bakery cases line the walls and are piled high with homemade breads, jams and pastries. Delicious looking sweets of all kinds shine brightly in the cases, tempting everyone that walks by to try at least one {or more!}.

The restaurant is just as appealing as the bakery, boasting intimate cafe seating, friendly waitstaff and mouth-watering food delivered fresh to your table. Taste of Paris serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and, of course, dessert. The best part of visiting the restaurant though, is surely the owner, Chef Claude Bouteille, who comes out to chat and laugh with the patrons of each and every table. He has a way about him that makes everyone in the restaurant feel completely at home and comfortable, and definitely wanting to come back for more.

Breakfast is a delight, with a menu offering savory egg dishes, sweet creations like french toast and a variety of crepes as well as classics like omelets and yogurt and granola. During the weekends, you have an extra reason to stop in bright and early. Taste of Paris offers some special “weekend only” breakfast items like quiche, waffles and gourmet oatmeal. Want a little extra sugar to kick-start your morning? Order a treat from the bakery {chocolate croissant anyone?} to accompany your breakfast. You will not regret it!
Lunch and dinner are equally as delicious with fresh-made soups, salads and entrees. Taste of Paris wants its patrons to know that the restaurant doesn’t just serve fancy French food. This cafe is family friendly and has many kid-appealing offerings as well as traditional French food and classic American favorites. Its bakery is truly full service, and it even does custom cakes and desserts by special order.

The holiday season ushers more festive joy into the restaurant with its Family Nights and Holiday events. Every Wednesday, Taste of Paris hosts a Family Fun Night from 5:30-7:30 p.m. RC Juggles comes to make exciting balloon creations for the kids in a wonderful family friendly environment. During family nights, it also offers 1/2 off bottles of wine and a delicious kids menu. For only $5.95, your children can enjoy a delicious entree, drink and cookie!

Looking to stop in soon? Black Friday might be the day to do so! Come on by before 11:30 a.m., mention Little Lake County, enjoy a complimentary cup of coffee and a croissant and stay for the comfort and ambiance.
New Year’s Eve might be another night to visit if you are looking for a nice evening out. Taste of Paris hosts a New Year’s Eve five course dinner complete with soup, salad, entree and dessert. Reservations are strongly recommended for that event. Just want to pop into the bakery? Check out its special holiday offerings like Buche de Noel {Yule Logs}, which are one of the best sellers around the holidays. Pies, {especially French Silk!} are also very popular, along with Stollen Bread and Croquembouche {French pastry}. Everyone that walks in will realize that Taste of Paris has a little something for everyone on any budget. It is a classic, friendly, small business that truly caters to its customers.
