Cop on a Rooftop is a yearly fundraiser for the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. This year will mark the 15th year of this event, which has become a yearly tradition with my kids who love to visit and support our police.
Officers from various departments will be up on rooftops from 5:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 19 to raise money and bring awareness to the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. Everyone who makes a donation to the Torch Run will receive a free donut. If you donate at least $10, you will receive a travel mug and a free medium coffee. Other Torch Run Merchandise will be available as well.
Participating Lake County departments:
- Vernon Hills Police Department will be at the Dunkin’ Donuts at Hawthorn Hills Shopping Center (Rte. 21 & 60) from 5:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.
- Round Lake Beach Police Department will be at the Dunkin’ Donuts at 369 E. Rollins Road as well as the location on Route 83 in Round Lake Beach starting 5:00 a.m.
- Lake County Sheriff”s Office deputies, reserve deputies, and explorers will be at the Dunkin’ Donuts in Third Lake, 34484 Route 45 as well as 707 Rockland Rd, Lake Bluff/Knollwood, from 5:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
- Zion Police Department will be at the Zion Dunkin’ Donuts, 2101 Sheridan Road from 5:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
