2015 Playground Tour Stop #1: Bowen Park, June 11th {Waukegan}

Little Trike Media Events

The Greek Theatre in L.A., Madison Square Garden in NYC, Red Rocks in Colorado, Alpine Valley in Wisconsin… all legendary venues in which to launch a tour. But only one venue can fit the bill for the epic return of The Little Lake County Playground Tour 2015…

When you first set eyes on Bowen Park in Waukegan, your first reaction will be, “DUDE!”

And who could blame you?  With 40-foot tube slides, a giant web climber, splash pad, separate tot lot and a gorgeous natural setting, there’s simply no better location to launch the start of the Little Lake County Playground Tour 2015.

There are so many awesome features to this playground – it’s a true Lake County gem. Visit our Bowen Park Playground Profile for full details.   Highlights for the big kids include the outlook tower with tube slides, giant spinner and web climber.

Bowen Park Toddler Play

Our youngest groupies will enjoy the quieter toddler play area which is set apart from the rest of the playground at the highest level of this multi-tiered park. The toddler play area is well shaded with a small sandpit and squishy rubberized turf that’s great for wobbly walkers.

As if this totally rockin’ playground weren’t enough reason to come out and play, we’ve got a full lineup of special guests who are coming to jam with us.  Three Brothers Theatre in Waukegan will perform scenes from their latest children’s production, Alice in Wonderland!

Our tour sponsor, Great Lakes Credit Union is bringing the adorable Kirby Kangaroo to each stop on our tour to visit with friends, sign autographs, give hugs and kiss babies.  Justin Bieber’s got Nuthin’ on Kirby!

The Waukegan Park District will also be offering fun activities and we’ll be handing out samples (while supplies last) of Surf Sweets Organic Jelly Beans which are allergy-friendly and made with organic sweeteners.
