Kids’ Castle at Deerpath Park in Vernon Hills is a Little Lake County favorite where kids can duel as knights and princesses rule from their lofty towers. Maureen tells you all about it in her Playground Profile of Deerpath Park. What makes this tour stop even more special, is it’s your chance to bid farewell to this beloved playground – Kids’ Castle will be torn down in late October and receive a complete facelift in Spring 2016. Help us bid a fond farewell to Kids’ Castle and slay a dragon one last time!
Our friends from the Vernon Hills Park District Summer Camp program will be there to assist your child with fun activities and cool craft projects.

Our Tour Stop #4 Sponsor, The Science Party, will help your child uncover scientific mysteries with hands-on demonstrations. The Science Party offers birthday parties or science camps that will wow your kids and educate them all at the same time. You can learn more about them in Maureen’s review of The Science Party.

As always, our friend Kirby Kangaroo from Great Lakes Credit Union will be there to meet all the hepcats and cool kids. This loveable kangaroo is hip-hip hoppin’ to the bang bang boogie at each and every stop on our Playground Tour. Kirby shares financial education and frugal parenting ideas every month at Kirby’s Corner.

Because kids need fuel for all their playground adventures, we’ll be handing out samples of Surf Sweets Organic Gummy Candy. Sample a variety of their yummy candies throughout our tour. Surf Sweets are allergy-friendly, made with organic sweeteners, and the company is locally-headquartered in Wheeling, IL.

If you’ve been a loyal fan and have been following us on tour, don’t forget to bring your Little Lake County All-Access to Fun Pass. Validate these “backstage passes” at a minimum of four out of five playdates on our tour, and be entered into a drawing to win our Grand Prize: FREE tuition for one (1) child to attend the fall session at the Foss Swim School of your choice! One runner-up will receive a FREE progress-builder swim camp.
Every VIP who turns in their pass with four tour stops validated will be entered to win. Please note you must already have a Pass from a previous tour stop in order to be eligible; no additional passes are available.
