Get the same feeling with modern twists at the 14th Annual Grayslake family picnic and fireworks.
Let your children bounce the night away so they are good and worn out for the firework show! Besides the “Taste of Grayslake” with offerings from different restaurant the picnic features bounce houses galore. I think there were at least a dozen when we went last year, my kids couldn’t get enough! In addition to the bounce houses (moonwalks) there is a 80 foot slide, Windjammer swings, Trackless train, climbing wall, Euro-bungee, Obstacle Course, tattoos, Berry go round, Face painting, and Minute to Win it challenge. There will also be live bands playing all day and booths from local organizations and business. The fire department is always a popular stop and last year the kids got to make paper fire trucks to take home.
All the rides shut down at 8 and that’s when the real fun starts as everyone tries to secure seating for the fireworks! There really isn’t a bad seat in the whole park so we base our seat on where we can find friends and if you know anyone in Grayslake you will probably be able to find them there!
Fireworks usually start around 9:30 and parking is available at both Grayslake middle school and central high school.
