Announcing Around the World in Four Playdates with Language Stars {FREE}

Our 3rd annual winter playdate series is back to chase the winter blues away. Pack your (diaper) bag and save the dates for our upcoming globetrotting adventures…

We are pleased to announce that in 2017, we are partnering with Language Stars to go Around the World in Four Playdates.

Language Stars Barrington

We’ll help you travel around the world to escape the winter doldrums without the cost of a plane ticket.  Little ones will get to play, learn, and broaden their horizons while you get the opportunity to get out of the house and socialize with other caregivers, for FREE.

Each playdate will focus on a different country and celebrate that region’s language and culture. Along with Language Stars locations in Deerfield (Bannockburn) and Barrington,  two of our favorite Lake County libraries will also open their doors to welcome you.

Each playdate will feature:

  • A Cultural Storytime
  • Thematic Arts & Crafts
  • Foreign Language games and activities led by Language Stars instructors utilizing their proven play-based FunImmersion® techniques.
  • Samples of 100% natural YogurtZ pouches from GoGo squeeZ, our official series snack sponsor — “So Cool, It Doesn’t Have to be Cold.”

Around the World in Four Playdates offers more than just a fun winter diversion.  Cultural sensitivity and fluency in foreign language are the competencies our children will need to navigate the 21st century. According to linguistic researchers at Cornell University, learning a second language actually gives children a cognitive advantage that can contribute to their future academic success.

Are you raising a global citizen and future world leader?  Our free winter playdate series will give your child a taste of the tools they’ll need to build bridges and cross divides!  And trust me, they won’t even know they are learning a thing.  The native-speaking instructors at Language Stars are so lively and upbeat, it feels more like playtime at preschool than a language lesson.  You can read more about my own children’s experience in a Language Stars class in my 2014 review.
