Dance Academy of Libertyville is the studio home to Ballet Theatre of Illinois and a Little Lake County Advertising partner. This story is part of their partnership.
You’ll wonder if you’re still in Libertyville when you experience the magical world of Oz performed by the talented performers of Ballet Theatre Illinois (BTI). BTI is a on-profit organization created to provide the local community the best dance they can offer. While house at Dance Academy of Libertyville BTI does not require studio affiliation of company members giving many local dancers the opportunity to enhance their skills and perform in full length ballets.

BT’s is a Lake County gem. I have taken my girls to their last two spring shows and it’s been a great way to introduce them to the artistry of ballet with a quality performance at a location and price that is accessible to families in the suburbs. We’ve driven into the city for a ballet and my girls (6 and 10) prefer the intimacy of seeing BTI’s show where they can see the dancers and meet them! After every show the dancers come out on stage and will meet the kids and sign autographs.
This year Ballet Theatre of Illinois is performing The Wizard of OZ as their spring show. This will be a great show to take kids too as it’s a familiar story that they will understand and recognize the characters from. The 50 minute performance will be held February 24 and 25 at the Libertyville High School Auditorium.
