We at Little Lake County have been supporters of Busy Brain’s mission to bring a children’s museum to Lake County since we started. Last year they were able to make huge steps towards that reality with the donation of a building in downtown Lake Villa. While that donation was a huge help, there is still a ways to go before they can open their doors. They are counting on the parents of Lake County to talk with their dollars and bring this great resource to our children.
Friday, May 1, is Busy Brains annual Brain Builder event. Little lake County is once again a media partner, and we cannot wait to join the community at this celebration and fundraiser. The event is held at the beautiful Lehmann Mansion in Lake Villa with catering provided by Bauer’s Catering. I can’t wait to see what Lovin’ Oven Cakery does on the dessert table this year because last year…
It was all edible, and all amazing!
The event features a silent auction as well as a raffle of items generously donated by community supporters. I’m still grumpy about not winning the bidding on these Bears items from last year, Ditka forever!
This year’s silent auction promises to be just as good! Some of the items they have already collected include:
- An overnight stay and $200 to spend at Great Wolf Lodge for a Family of 4
- 2 Great Seats for a Cubs Game – this is their year!
- 4 tickets to a Bears Pre-season game
- Gift certificates to Bob Chinn’s Crabhouse, ACE Hardware, Egg harbor Café, Office Max, Chick-fil-A and many others
