Brain Builder 2019 – Casino Royale

Antioch, IL

Little Trike Media is a media partner of Busy Brains Children’s Museum.

For the last ten years, Kathy Goers and Alison Price have been working tirelessly to bring a children’s museum to Lake County. Opening a museum is no easy task as it takes over 3 million dollars to build out a museum and have the reserve funds to get it running. Despite the seemingly insurmountable goal the volunteer team at Busy Brains Children’s Museum continues working to bring this much-needed resource to Lake County.

You may have thought after they didn’t open up in the Lake Villa building by this year that the museum was no longer a possibility. While they won’t have space on Lake Villa’s Mainstreet any longer because of the increasing cost to get it renovated and build out Busy Brains is both still very much alive and has big ideas for how it can serve the children of lake county.

Busy Brains is transitioning, not leaving.

From Alison Price:

There is still a need for a children’s museum in the Northern Illinois Area. New research has emphasized the importance of unstructured play in young children. Families are busier than ever, so a trip to Milwaukee or Glenview is still a challenge.

Busy Brains is committed to meeting the continuing need in new and engaging ways. They will continue to travel around the county with their traveling exhibits (which you can also book for birthday parties!). They will be adding three new exhibits to this rotation as well. They are also in negotiations for pop-up options in the area until they find a new and permanent home.

No more than ever they need the support of the parent community.

One of the things they are changing up is their annual Gala event. Instead of the usual gala-style event, they are hosting a Casino Night. This is a perfect way to get some much-needed parent-only time after the hustle of spring break and holidays. Schedule a babysitter and channel your inner 007 for a night of gaming including Blackjack, Craps, and Roulette.

Being held at Anastasia’s in Antioch the event will feature Hors-d’oeuvres a dessert table by Lovin’ Oven Cakery as well as a cash bar. Of course, the favorite silent auction and wine pull will also be happening so everyone will have a chance to go home a winner! Tickets start at $50 and include $1000 in poker chips. Casino Royale is the largest fundraiser of the year for the museum so get your tickets today and help move the mission forward!
