The staff believes its role as early care and education experts is a complement to the primary role of parents. From casual conversations, Daily Experience Sheets and parent-teacher conferences, they actively encourage communication between parents and teachers.  The Daily Experience Sheet is a critical communications link between parents and teachers, and gives parents a sense of their child’s day and keeps them informed about his or her experiences. The parent-teacher partnership is important and valued.

Of course, part of your child’s growth will involve some missteps along the way as children learn to be in charge of their own behavior. At Bright Horizons at Lake Cook, the teachers believe in establishing consistent, easy to understand limits and in having teachers who respond to inappropriate behavior with insight, sensitivity, and skill.  In the event a child does not respond to positive guidance, the teachers notify the parents and work closely with them to develop a plan to help the child gain self-control and a positive attitude toward their peers and teachers.
