Bump to Baby Expo at Vernon Area Public Library

Lincolnshire, IL

Calling all expectant parents! If you are a first-time mom-to-be or new to the Lake County area, this is the event for you! We invite you and your partners to join Little Lake County at the Vernon Area Public Library for their FREE Bump to Baby Expo!

Bump to Baby Expo Vernon Area Public Library

Held from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Saturday, April 27, this event will give parents the opportunity to find out what’s new and tried-and-true in pregnancy, birth, and parenting. In addition, expectant parents will get to meet local organizations (like Little Lake County!), day care centers and networking groups. The Expo will connect new and future parents with 24 area organizations and vendors to show off their services and opportunities for families

The day will include 5-minute spark talks on parenting topics including a more comfortable pregnancy and delivery, newborn essentials, infant and toddler sleep, and exploring Lake County with kids. That last one is all us! We know a thing or two about having fun in Lake County and our creator and publisher Melissa Haak (that’s me!). I now know that Lake County is full of entertainment, fun and undiscovered treasures.  But I didn’t always know where to go, which is how Little Lake County was born. In my spark talk, I will teach you how I get out to explore with my kids without spending a fortune and how we have fun all summer long with just a little planning.

The Lincolnshire Police Department will be on hand to provide car seat checks and adjustments. If you are into wearing your baby Chicagoland Babywearing will be offering adjustments and demos.

Every Bump to Baby Expo visitor will be eligible to enter raffles to win prizes that include doula services, gift certificates, baby gear. We will have a bbluv Multi playmat as part of the giveaway. This bright and colored, playmat is reversible and will grow with your child as toddlers use the town side to play with cars and blocks. Made from non-toxic and easy-to-clean material, it also rolls up for easy storage.

Librarian Kelsey Cole-Burns, one of the event coordinators, anticipates that anyone who steps through the library doors to attend Bump to Baby Expo will not only find an array of local businesses but “a home away from home where parents can take their babies to learn, play and meet others in the community.”
