Did that sudden brisk air leave you wondering what to do with your kids come winter? Look no farther because Busy Brains Children’s Museum is here with their new Pop-Up space at Hawthorn Mall.
Busy Brains Children’s Museum (BBCM) has taken over the old Bath & Body Works location on the lower level and will be in the mall through January 5, 2020. The pop-up space provides a smart and fun play area for young kids almost daily (see hours at the end).
In addition to their usual, well-loved traveling exhibits BBCM has added four brand new ones:
- Magna Wall
- Look Inside
- Light Site
- Spine Vine
The new space will also allow Busy Brains to host birthday parties on Sundays throughout the Pop-up time period giving parents another awesome birthday venue in lake county.
The Pop-Up location gives you a chance to support the Busy Brains mission to bring a permeant children’s museum to Lake County. It also allows you to sneak in some educational fun and mix up your usual mall playdate options.
Admission to the museum is $5 per child, parents are free. Pop-in Today!

October 30 – Nanny Niki’s Musical Playdate
Musical Playdates are an interactive musical show including sing-a-long songs, stories, dancing, and more! Free with the price of general admission, this event will feature some Halloween songs and stories! Come sing & soar with Nanny Nikki!
