If you’re looking for a cupcake with a hint of, well, sophistication, head on over to Couture Cupcake Cafe & Gelato Bar where all your designer cupcake dreams will come true. Whether your guilty pleasure is Chanel, Tiffany or Jimmy Choo, there is a designer cupcake here that is sure to please even the most discriminating palate. And with 200 flawless flavors to choose from, no one will be disappointed by the selection.
Inside this quaint storefront you will find a treasure trove of handcrafted, delicious cupcakes like no others. Sporting specialty designer names like Chanel (vanilla bean cake topped with vanilla bean icing), Dior (Belgian chocolate chunk cake topped with vanilla bean icing and French chocolate), and Manolo Blahnik (Belgian chocolate cake topped with cream cheese icing), each cupcake is baked from scratch from trusted recipes, and these cupcakes do not disappoint. And those are simply cupcakes from the “standard” collection.
Chocolate lovers will fall head over heels for the “specialty” collection that includes indulgent cupcakes such as Bombshell (Belgian chocolate chunk cake topped with Madagascar vanilla bean icing and draped in dark chocolate ganache) and Gus “TT” Showbiz (chocolate cake stuffed with French truffle filling, covered in dark chocolate ganache and topped with Italian chocolate buttercream ganache and chocolate curls), among others. These cupcakes are as much a feast for the eyes as they are dessert. I wouldn’t miss the Salted Caramel or Mocha Carmel if I were you. This collection also includes multiple flavors of red velvet, fruits such as berries and lemon, and Heavenly Swine — buttermilk cake stuffed with Applewood Smoked Bacon, topped with maple buttercream and a chunk of caramelized bacon. Yum!
But down to business. My daughter and I were on a mission to curb our couture cupcake craving. After much deliberation, we agreed to share the Peanut Butter XXL. This cupcake has an entire Reese’s peanut butter cup baked in its center, and is topped with a peanut butter buttercream frosting and boasts another whole Reese’s cup on top. It was large enough to share, and wonderfully delicious. The cake was tasty and tender, and the layers of frosting were perfectly flavored and not over-the-top sweet or too rich at all. Overall, we both loved it.
While cupcakes are the mainstay here, you will also find a large selection of Italian gelato and sorbetto. And choose from a sugar, pretzel, waffle or old-fashioned cone for your ice-cold delight. In addition to standard and specialty cupcake collections, there are gluten-free and vegan options, too. Mini-cupcakes are sold by the dozen, and personalized, custom-orders are welcomed. If you are in the market for a custom cake that will make memories for years to come, consult the expert bakers here for a couture buttercream, fondant, vegan or gluten-free designer delight for your next special occasion. Couture Cupcake Cafe & Gelato Bar is also included in Little Lake County’s lists of Best Cupcakes in Lake County and Lake County’s Best Birthday Cakes.
Couture Cupcake Cafe & Gelato Bar also offers classes and parties for kids who wish to learn the art of cupcake decorating, design their own pasty chef duds, celebrate with a lunch and dessert party. Cake decorating 101 classes are offered for older children and adults.
