Day Off Activities for Bigger Kids – Veteran’s Day November 11th

If you are browsing through your calendar and just realized your kids are off school next Wednesday for Veteran’s Day, don’t fret. Little Lake County has got you covered with a list of day-off camps and activities being offered. Most require pre-registration, so don’t delay, sign up today.

Day Off Camps in Lake County

Day Off on the Farm – Angelic Organics Ages 6-12
Spend your day off of school on the farm! We’ll take care of the animals, make art projects, and tour the farm. Bring a sack lunch. Cost is $35 per child.

CRE8 Day off School Camp Ages 7-14
Come to CRE8 for a fun morning of crafting. We will be making projects not offered for birthday parties or drop in crafts. $50 per child

American Girls and Super Hero Hikes – Highland Park Park District (Age 6-8)
Drop off the kids with their favorite doll or action figure at Heller for a fun hike through the woods topped off with a campfire and roasted marshmallows. Class runs from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. for $12 per child.

Game On! Sports 4 Girls – Athletico Northbrook (Girls K-5)
A day off school event like no other! Open to all girls in all communities! We are excited about this day of empowerment for girls in grades K-5. Meet inspirational role models from the U.S. Rhythmic Group Championship Team that is headed to the Rio Olympics next year! The Dr. Cool & Pride Show will be LIVE, featuring their motivational skill-building program for kids.  Other activities include yoga and self-defense sessions, fitness and dance activities, food demos, and more. Admission is $25-40 at Athletico Northbrook.

Libertyville Gymnastics Academy Boot Camp
For ages 3 – 10 years old with prior registration by November 10. Come explore the Army Life! Dress up in your camouflage! Students will enjoy hours of fun in the gym, on the bars, beam, trampoline, obstacle course, and inflatables. $55 (members) and $65 (non-members)

 

Veterans Day Events in Lake County

Not full day camps this fun events will give you something to look forward too and break up the day:

Cupcakes for a Cause Royal Princess Parties

Magical Moments with the Princess Cabaret  
10:30 a.m. Rolek Community Center, Round Lake. Come and enjoy a moment or two with our beautiful princess characters. They will perform a magical show complete with favorite princess songs and stories and will gladly stay afterward for pictures and hugs. Admission is $1 per person.

The Math Maniac Show
10:30 a.m. James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts.
Students will see a whole new way to discover the awesome possibilities of mathematics and they won’t even know they’re learning about geometry, fractions, probability, money and so much more! General admission is $10.

Veterans Day Celebration
12:15 p.m. Community Arts Center, Buffalo Grove.  Join us as we honor all Veterans, their families, and friends. There will be free refreshments from 12:15 – 1:15 pm courtesy of Culvers of Buffalo Grove. The program will begin at 1:30 pm. This is sure to be a day that will be remembered by everyone. All ages are invited to this very special time of remembrance.

Schools Out? The Museum is Open!
1:00 p.m. Raupp Museum, Buffalo Grove. The Museum will be open with special free walk-in activities, this week: Make a felt flag.
