About Tracy Rubel 86 Articles
Tracy dreams of someday being considered a “cool” mom and she can still remember the days when she had time to put on makeup in the morning. She is a young, single, stay-at-home mom to an awesome little boy named Jayden. She recently graduated college with a degree in Early Childhood Education and has lived in various parts of Lake County her whole life. Every day, she and her son set off in her Jeep, rocking a pair of oversized sunglasses, in search of a new and exciting adventure to go on. In her free time she enjoys photography, reading, dancing, yoga, shopping, and pinning kid’s activities on Pinterest. She truly believes that if she was given enough Starbucks that she could rule the world.

  1. The event itself is free but you cannot park at the beach without a pass so it is actually an accessible. They may want to update that information so people don’t drive out.

  2. This event is not happening this year (2019). The park and the beach are so pretty so we didn’t waste our drive, but definitely no animals.

    • Update! Got to my car and found a $125 ticket waiting for me. I must not have seen the signs. The parking lot close the the beach is only for residents. Visitors have to park at the metro station and walk. Not worth it, unless you plan on spending all day here. Very disappointing.

I’m sorry for all your troubles, we got our information directly from the Parks and Recreation Summer guide which says it is happening this year on Monday’s and Thursdays. Obviously, schedules are open to change and the weather this year has been anything but cooperative. Again I’m sorry for the troubles you had and would suggest visiting the WDC at their location in Elawa Farm.
