Do you have a little nature lover? Take advantage of a free program this weekend to explore the Wetlands on the Lake/Cook border at Crabtree Nature Center in Barrington. Located n Barrington and run by the Forest Preserve District of Cook County Crabtree Nature Center has forest, prairie and marsh lands to explore. It’s one of our favorite places to visit!
This Sunday between 11:00 and 2:00 Crabtree Nature Center will be hosting the first ever Gateway to the Preserves event focusing on our wonderful wetlands. They will have many stations set up along the trail system to learn about frogs, turtles, and aquatic insects. Or try your hand at dip netting and see whats below the surface of our ponds and marshes.

This is a family oriented event with crafts and information for people of all ages.

This looks to be a great way to introduce the wetlands to your little nature lover!
