Spring Break is here! If you opted to stay in Lake County because of schedule or funds you don’t need to resign yourself to unlimited TV and playgrounds. There is much FREE fun to be had in Lake County this spring break!
Always Free Fun:
Wildlife Discovery Museum {1403 Middlefork Drive, Lake Forest}
This great little nature center is nestled into the historic buildings of Elawa Farm is is free all the time. Open Tuesday, Friday and Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Prairie Grass Nature Museum {860 Hart Rd., Round Lake}
This always free museum is full of realistic exhibits, live animals and always changing activities. Open Tuesday-Thursday 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Lake County Discovery Museum {27277 Forest Preserve Rd, Wauconda}
This local gem of a museum offers hands on activities and exhibits that give kids a look at the history of Lake County and more. The museum is free for kids on Tuesdays (half price for adults).
The Raupp Museum 901 Dunham Lane, Buffalo Grove}
This local museum showcases the history of Buffalo Grove through its local artifacts and special exhibits. Always free, over Spring Break they will be having walk-in activities every afternoon as well as nature walks.
Of course Playgrounds are always free but it doesn’t have to be the boring neighborhood tot lot! Check out these jaw-dropping playgrounds that will make even your tween interested in joining in the fun!
