The holidays are here and if your gift list is longer than Santa’s, we’re here to help. The 2017 LLC Gift Guides will help you find the best gifts for everyone on your list leaving you time to spare and the energy to wrap all the gifts. Today we’re tackling the hardest person on our list (at least mine!) the Tweens & Teens. We have some ideas they will love that are better than a gift card or cash – which we know they really want.

gift ideas for tweens

Boodle Box

Boodle Box takes the guess work out of finding what’s trending and cool. This monthly subscription box (or one-time gift) comes filled with adorable accessories and beauty products for tweens and teens. You can choose the age ranges, 6-11 or 12 and up. I received both fall boxes and my tween is going to flip for them. They contained bath bombs, lip gloss, adorable necklaces – chokers of course since they are all the rage, a bracelet and some eye shadow that may or may not end up in my stocking. Available in 1, 3, 6, or 12 month subscriptions at Boodle Box.

 Cute Socks

Socks are so popular in the tween culture- especially mismatched ones, so grab a pair or two.  These playful holiday socks at Charming Charlie in Gurnee Mills make any ordinary outfit more than festive.

Bath Bombs

Let them relax all the stress of tweendom away with a bath bomb. Available locally at so many places, like Bath and Body Works. We love the ones from Riche Organics in Highland Park and of course Lush. Have a tween that’s more of a maker? How about a Bath Bomb Making kit?

Bracelets

Bracelets are always the right size! My girls wear lots of them, single and stacked. These leather wrap bracelets from Alexis Drake are a favorite, though technically mine (the teal one) is always ending up on a tweens wrists. They are handprinted and adjustable, with three sizes they are perfect for any tween girl on your list.

My Audio Pet

It’s a Bluetooth speaker that’s only the size of a golf ball. You can use it to play music or your phone calls! Small size- big sound. They come in a wide variety of pets so you can get the one that suits your tweens personality best.

Headphones

Prefer to not hear their music? Great over-the-ear headphones make a great gift. Encourage their creativity with a design your own set from Seedling.

Merge Cube

We received one of these at the Chicago Toy and Game Fair and my son has been desperately waiting for my new phone to come so he can play with it. The cube works with an app on your smart phone and can be used with or without VR (you can make your own VR viewer from Seedling). It turns the cube, which feels almost like a stress ball, into a hologram that you are holding in your hand. It’s super cool and the line of people waiting to try it at ChiTag is a testament to that!

Selfie Light and Solar Charger

For the perfect selfie the first time, every time grab a selfie light!  The clerks in Charming Charlie at Gurnee Mills say these work well and all of the tweens love them!  Grab a solar charger, too and your tween can use their device on the go even when the battery gets low.

Other Ideas:

  •  Cute versions of practical items such as a hairbrush
  • Water Bottles – can you ever have enough? I’m currently crushing on (and hiding from my tween) my S’Well

What’s on your tween’s list?
