Coming this spring and summer to a gym, field and stadium near you, Chicago area sports fans have a chance to watch some of the top female athletes in the world compete in basketball, soccer, softball and even tackle football! With summer days looming in the near future, we can’t think of a better way to kickstart the warm temperatures and sunny days than with some exciting and affordable pro sports events. These professional women’s teams are ready to take on the top cities in the United States while looking to bring more championships to Chicago in 2017!

Preparing for their 11th WNBA season, you and your family can take a short trip to Allstate Arena this May to watch the Chicago Sky as they compete in women’s professional basketball. Known for their sky blue and yellow jerseys, you can watch the top women’s basketball players in the world compete at Allstate Arena from May 19th through their final game of the regular season on September 3rd. Be on the lookout for Chicago’s own Cappie Pondexter as she returns for her third year playing back in her hometown. As a 3-time all star and 2-time WNBA champion, Cappie was voted as one of the top 20 players in WNBA history during the 20-year anniversary of the WNBA!

Competing in the National Women’s Soccer League since 2013, soccer fans of all ages can make the trip to Bridgeview to see the Chicago Red Stars. Women’s professional soccer takes over Toyota Park from early April through the end of September. With a new look and logo and head coach Rory Dames at the helm, the Red Stars look to reign at the top of the league this season. With tickets available all around the soccer pitch, you’ll be sure to find the spot watch your favorite stars up close during the 2017 season!

Part of the National Pro Fastpitch league, the four time champion Chicago Bandits will play their softball games in Rosemont this summer at Rosemont Stadium. Located on Jennie Finch Way, named after their all time great player and Olympic gold medalist Jennie Finch, Rosemont Stadium was built in 2011. This is the perfect ball park to take the family to this summer with the first game scheduled for June 1st with games running through mid-August. Gather up your daughter and her friends and take them out to a day of softball under the warm air of Rosemont. Are you feeling down with the NFL season coming to an end? We feel your pain. With four home games in Evanston kicking off on May 6th, come out to Evanston Township High School at 6:00 p.m. and check out the Chicago Force women’s tackle football team! Playing in the Women’s Football Alliance league, the Force will play in eight full contact 11 vs. 11 games throughout their season. The first four games of the season will be played away while the final four will be under the lights in Evanston. With home games versus Minnesota, Toledo, Boston and St. Louis, this is set to be another great season for the former 2013 National Champions.
