Dine with the Easter Bunny in Lake County

Easter breakfast with Bunny is an annual Park District tradition that you and your child won’t want to miss. A delicious, catered breakfast is served. Children one year and older and all adults need to be registered.

It’s going to be an egg-stravaganza this year at Breakfast with the Bunny. An all-you-can-eat buffet, held in the zoo’s Discovery Center, will feature a special appearance from costumed characters Mr. and Mrs. Bunny, who will be available for photo opportunities. In addition, there will be live musical entertainment. Pricing includes zoo admission and parking.

Free for ages 2 to 6.
Head out the turf field for fun and games. Bring your camera for a photo with the bunny and Wheeling Park District mascots Willie the Whale and Petie the Polar Bear before the hunt for candy-filled eggs begins! Egg hunting begins promptly at 10:45 a.m. Bring a basket to carry your eggs.

10,000 candy-filled eggs will blanket Community Park. After the hunt, hop on down to pictures with the bunny in front of our spring photo backdrop. That’s not all, we will have a petting zoo where you can pet real bunnies!  Don’t forget, you will need a basket or bag to hold the eggs you collect. Be sure to dress for the weather. Easter Egg Hunts in Lake County

Often egg hunts can be crowded and quite busy. You can avoid the crowds by purchasing your spot at an egg hunt for a different experience this year! The following events require payment and/or registration before the event. Please check each listing before heading out.

Bunnynanza H20 *registration required*
5 April 5:30 – 8:00 p.m.
Foglia YMCA, Lake Zurich
Cost: $5 members $10 non-member per participant; adults are free
Enjoy an evening with the bunny, participate in activities, jump in the bounce house, dance to the music, tumble in the tot spot, bite into a delicious snack and of course join in the water egg hunt! Each age group will participate in their time slot, collect a certain number of eggs and turn them in to receive a prize.
Note: If your child cannot swim well, an adult will be required in the pool with them.

Egg Scramble

Round Lake Area Park District Sports Center
Cost: $1 per child.

The Antioch Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring the Annual Eggcellent Easter Adventure, a two-part event that features a parade and an egg hunt. The parade will start at 10:30 a.m. in downtown Antioch. Immediately following the parade the Easter egg hunt will begin in Williams Park for children ages 1 to 10. Children participating in the egg hunt must pre-register at the Antioch Parks and Recreation Office between now and the egg hunt.

Cost: $5 per person ages 9 -12
Bring your flashlight and running shoes! The Easter Bunny is making a nighttime special delivery of goodies and treats. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served after the egg hunt.

Bring your flashlights for this “eggciting” evening egg hunt! Children will search for hidden eggs on the soccer field, and parents must accompany their children during the hunt. Children should be equipped with flashlights and baskets to collect the eggs. Pre-registration is required. No registration will be accepted at the egg hunt.

The dragon has escaped and eggs were spread all over Kids’ Castle playground! We need kids, ages 9-12 years, to bring your flashlights and help us find the eggs at this new event.  Meet at Kids’ Castle playground in Deerpath Park.  This event will be canceled in the case of inclement weather.

Nitelite Egg Hunt *registration required*
19 April 7:30 – 9:30 p.m.
Paulus Park Barn, Lake Zurich
Cost: $10 (residents), $12 (non-residents).
Ages 9 to 12. Hunt for eggs outside at Paulus Park in this game of Hide-n-Glow seek! Find golden eggs and WIN BIG! Afterward, enjoy the party atmosphere with a DJ, pizza, and beverages. Remember to dress appropriately for the weather and to bring your own flashlight and bag. Register early as space is limited.

This kids cooking class will begin with learning to make the dough for sugar cookies and finishing with learning how to decorate and pipe them. Children ages 4-5 need to be accompanied by an adult. Children ages 6 and older are drop-off.

Heritage Kids Presents this free family event where you can play dodgeball with the bunny, enjoy some awesome Easter games, crafts, and all you can eat pancakes thrown to you by Uncle Pancake.

Mr. Rabbit’s Spring Fling *registration required*

Round Lake Area Park District, Children’s Neighborhood Museum
Cost: $14 residents, $18 non-residents
Event will feature games, prizes, art projects, and a special snack. You will also be able to visit Mr. Rabbit in the Neighborhood – don’t forget your camera! He just may have a surprise for you! Limited space is available, so register early. Perfect for children ages 1-6.

Egg Coloring Fun *registration required*
13 April, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Grayslake Recreation Center, Grayslake
Cost: $17 residents, $21 nonresidents, $12 sibling fee.
Gather together to color eggs and decorate cookies for Easter.

Eggstravaganza
19 April 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Wauconda Area Library
Drop-in for all ages. You supply the basket and the library will help each child create three colorful eggs to put in it.

Easter Bunny Cupcakes *registration required*
20 April 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.
Taste Buds Kitchen, Bannockburn
Cost: $30 per child with one caregiver included.
Hoppy Easter! Join us as we celebrate the best way we know how, by whipping up a fresh batch of oh-so-delicious Bunny Cupcakes complete with cute pink ears and a bright shiny nose. No culinary adventure is complete without an official egg hunt as the secret ingredients to our recipe. Pack up your holiday spirit and let’s get cooking!

Eggcellent Easter Parade
20 April, 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Williams Park, 741 Main St., Antioch
The parade will start at 10:30 a.m. in downtown Antioch beginning on Main Street (Route 83) at Park Avenue, heading north to Williams Street. Want to walk in the parade? Wear a hat from elegant to outrageous and line up at the bandshell on Skidmore at 10:00 a.m.  All are welcome!

Easter Egg Hunt and Storytime *registration required*
20 April 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. 
Fox Lake District Library
Hop into the library for a special Easter storytime. listen to stories, make a craft and go on an egg hunt in the library.

Kids Easter Workshop *registration required*
20 April 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Lake Forest Flowers
Cost: $35
Children will work with an assortment of spring flowers to create an Easter themed floral design.

Egg Painting Workshop *registration required*
20 April 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.
One Crown Studios, Waukegan
Cost: $15
The family will have fun painting and decorating Easter Eggs. Art supplies provided as well as food, fun and music.
