Hainesville Civil War Encampment & Battle ~ September 10-11, 2016

Families can relive history this weekend at the Village of Hainesville’s Civil War Encampment and Battle, Saturday, September 10 – Sunday, September 11 at the Northbrook Sports Club.

Civil War Reenactment

Visitors will have the opportunity to view reenactments of military battles complete with armed soldiers, horses and cannons.   Tour Union as well as Confederate camps and interact with settlers from the 1800’s.

Children will especially enjoy the parade at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday and a presentation by Mrs. Lincoln at 1:00 p.m. with the battle to begin at 2:00 p.m. Visit the Hainesville website for the complete schedule of events on Saturday and Sunday.

Civil War Camp

Souvenirs and food will be available for purchase.

Event admission is FREE as is parking.  Attendees can park at Prairieview School at 103 E. Belvidere Road and ride a free shuttle bus to the encampment located nearby.

For safety reasons, local residents wishing to walk to the event must board the shuttle bus on Hainesville Road just south of Russo.  There is no parking at the Northbrook Sports Club and you must ride the shuttle bus to gain entry.
