Bimbam Hanukkah Adventure
2 December 4:00 p.m.
Congregation Solel, Highland Park
Free admission. Event includes interactive Macabee-themed games, dreidel, snacks, singing and more.

Hanukkah Storytime for Young Children
5 December, 11:00 a.m. , Barnes & Noble Deerfield
Learn about Hanukkah with stories, songs, and activities for children ages 0-2; older children welcome! Rabbi Adam Chalom leads this informal holiday gathering, allowing parents to get to know other families in your community! Resources for celebrating the holiday in your home will be provided. This program made possible by a grant from jBabyChicago. This event is free of charge; but requires an RSVP.

7 December 7:00 p.m.
Taste Buds Kitchen Bannockburn
Parents this class is for you! Spend this kid free evening exploring tradition, latke recipes and Hanukkah eats. Cost is $36 per person and registration is required.


Holiday Hanukkah Menorah
9 December 1:30 p.m.
Grayslake Park District
Start a new tradition this season by creating your very own menorah. There will also be Hanukkah stories and a snack. For ages 4-8 with registration. Cost is $17 residents and $22 non-residents, sibling fee is $12.


Awesome Hanukkah Celebration and Sing-Along
9 December 6:15 p.m.
Shir Hadash Synagogue, Wheeling
Singing, dancing, stories, jokes, crafts, potato latkes and donuts. Features the Might Shir Hadash Klezmer Band, menorah lighting and glow sticks, gourmet latke cooking demonstrations and potluck Oneg.


Hanukkah Happenings
10 December 10:00 a.m.
Hawthorn Mall
Celebrate Hanukkah with JCC Chicgao. This free event is open to the entire community and includes Hanukkah crafts, dreidel spinning, photo booth, raffle, and musical fun with Jeanie B. Located in the lower level in Carson’s court.


Kol Hadash Hanukkah Party & Luncheon
10 December 11:00 a.m.
Deerfield High School
This annual family Hanukkah celebration with songs, games, a “Humanorah” and a delicious luncheon. Admission is $12 for adults/teens and $10 for younger children. Tickets required.


Hanukkah Party
12 December 6:00 p.m.
JCYS Northwest Family Center, Buffalo Grove
Kick off the first night of Hanukkah with a party. There will be hot and savory latkes, creative Hanukkah crafting and open gym. Teachers and ADmin will end the night by lighting candles on the menorah and singing a few holiday favorites. Cost is $5 per family.


Gurnee Mills Menorah Lighting
14 December 5:30 p.m.
Gurnee Mills
Menorah lighting in the show court. This year’s Menorah will be eight feet high and made of LEGOs.

Third Night, Third Light
14 December, 3:30 p.m. Various Locations
Celebrate the third night of Hanukkah with Apachi J Camps. Each camp is hosting its own get together with treats and candle lighting. Stop by for a quick visit or stay the whole time. We are excited to see you!

The Candles of Chanukah
17 December, 4:00 p.m., Temple Jeremiah, Northfield
$10.00 per/family
Celebrate Chanukah with a theatrical play performed in Russian by little actors. Light Chanukah candles, enjoy holiday arts and crafts and munch on delicious latkes!

Hanukkah Concert
17 December 11:00 a.m. & 1:00 p.m.
Chicago Botanic Garden, Glencoe
Celebrate the music of the holiday season with the Maxwell Street Klezmer Band. Concert is one-hour and includes a visit to the Wonderland Express. Tickets are$20 per person in advance or $23 at the door. Children 2 and younger are free. Standard parking rates apply.
