This Friday, the moment we’ve waited for since their announcement last month, the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train will make a stop at Viking Park in Gurnee. The legendary train lit up in all its glory will make its stop December 4 at 3:50 p.m.
Every year, the Holiday Train travels through dozens of communities, raising food and cash donations for North American food banks.
Again this year, the Holiday Train in Viking Park program is encouraging people attending events to bring heart healthy donations. Heart health education and awareness is a tenet of CP’s community investment program, CP Has Heart, which focuses on improving the heart health of men, women and children in communities across North America.
They send out two separate illuminated trains from the Montreal area to visit 150 different communities for the 17th consecutive year.
They encourage attendees to make a cash donation or a nonperishable food item.
If you cannot make the 3:50 p.m. window, there are two other stops on that Friday not far from Lake County: Sturtevant (5:25 – 6:05 p.m.) and Milwaukee (6:50 – 740 p.m.).
