Miss Lisa teaches children how to bake and cook from scratch, using all natural and organic ingredients. Choose from a four-week session class, or try a “one-night taste,” depending on your child’s interests and your schedule. Classes are conveniently taught at the professional kitchen of Cacao Sweets & Treats in Grayslake, and one-hour classes for children ages 5-9 are offered at the Vernon Hills Park District.

Kids will love the cooking classes with Miss Lisa’s recipes for sweet and savory, mouth-watering dishes. Kids can learn how to make entrees such as spaghetti and meatballs, taco cups, corn dog muffins and pizza bread. If your children enjoy making sweet creations, let them try their hands at making chocolate chip banana muffins, mini-apple pies, French toast fruit kebabs, or apple, blueberry and cream cheese taquitos.

Little Lake County Writer Tracy enrolled her four-year-old son in a class and was very impressed with the experience. Tracy chronicled his class in detail here, and we were thrilled to read all about it.

According to Tracy,

Miss Lisa was so passionate about cooking and was great with the kids. It made me want to start cooking more complicated things myself, as well as include my son in the process of cooking it.

Every student receives Miss Lisa’s personalized attention, and classes are tailored to the age and experience level of the group. Dishes are prepared from start-to-finish, including preparing to cook and clean-up. Classes for older children move at a more accelerated pace and focus on culinary techniques, while classes for younger children involve learning how to follow recipe instructions and basic kitchen skills. All classes include instruction in kitchen safety, and class participants are sent home with their tasty, homemade treats AND a complete recipe book so your child can replicate the results at home.

Miss Lisa has been working with children since the age of 18, and her passion, and patience, for teaching kids in the kitchen is unparalleled. Set your child free on a creative cooking adventure with Miss Lisa, and your entire family will reap the benefits of the delightful, and delicious, a journey in the kitchen. In no time at all, your children will be sharing newfound knowledge and techniques with YOU.
