It’s the last weekend of summer! Make the most of it with these quintessential summer events–festivals, concerts, car shows and more! We’ve rounded up the Lake County Labor Day Weekend festivals and concerts for you so you can send summer off with a bang!

Festivals & Fairs Labor Day Weekend
Buffalo Grove Days – September 2 – 6
This annual festival has fun for everyone. The 2021 event will feature a carnival, musical entertainment, Food Trucks, Beer Tent, and Buddy Baseball Game (Thursday).
First Friday on Main Street – September 3
It is a party in downtown Libertyville every “First Friday” of the month. You will find a surprise around every corner. It might be a jazz band, a balloon artist, a classical guitarist, hor d’oeuvres, an art exhibit, or any number of other things that will entertain and delight you.
Nashwood – September 3-5
The City of Highwood will transform its downtown into Nashville’s Honky Tonk Row for its 4th Annual Nashwood. Attendees of all ages are encouraged to don their cowboy boots and hats as the sounds of live country, southern rock, blues, bluegrass, folk, jazz, gospel permeate the town!
Irish Days – September 4-6
The Historic District of Long Grove celebrates Irish Culture, music, and food. The schedule and mitigations for 2021 have not been updated at the time of publishing. The event usually includes Irish Dancers, a Kilt contest, a Gaelic tent food, and music.
Wauconda’s 22nd Annual Street Dance – September 4
What a feeling to join friends and family for a night of music and dancing! The Wauconda Area Chamber hosts an evening of live music, food, dancing, raffles, a collection of food and school supplies, and more!
67th Annual Art Fair on the Square – September 5-6
This annual art fair is held on Market Square in Lake Forest consists of selected exhibitors’ work in a variety of disciplines including ceramics, digital art, drawing, pastels, fiber, glass, jewelry, metal, graphics, mixed media, painting, photography, sculpture, and wood. There will also be a children’s art tent for the creative little ones.
Labor Day Weekend Concerts
15th Annual Bitter Jester Music Festival – September 5
The Grand Finale of this music festival will feature concerts, food, and fireworks at Wolters Field in Highland Park. This concert is a showcase of some of the BEST up-and-coming musical talents from across Illinois, Wisconsin, and Michigan! Raffle prizes will be available proceeds benefiting the Bitter Jester Foundation, a not-for-profit public charity in Illinois.
