Lake County may be large but it always feels like a small town that comes out to help their own in times of need. Next week we’re joining forces with The Lake Branch of the American Public Works Association Chicago Metro Chapter and the Northern Illinois Food Bank to help the hungry in our communities at the Lake County Responding to Hunger Food Drive and Touch-a-Truck event.
The event is organized by the Lake Branch of the American Public Works Association Chicago Metro and will feature public works agencies from all over the Lake County community. In exchange for bringing non-perishable and canned food items to feed your hungry neighbors, your children will be rewarded with a morning of fun featuring their favorite trucks!
Oh, and we’ll be there too!
That’s right — Little Lake County is taking a break from the Playground Tour and setting up shop at the fairgrounds. We’re bringing our toys and games, and our scooters! It will be a fun morning of activities for the whole family! Children can get an up-close look and climb aboard super-sized vehicles, and mom and dad can meet the men and women that keep their cities running.
This is no small event either. More than 30 large vehicles will be on site — so don’t forget your cameras! Communities and agencies that will be there:
