Hey, Hey, what’d you say the Cubs are going all the way!
Admittedly the majority of us Little Lake County writers are life-long Cub’s Fans. We bleed Cubbie blue and there may have been tears when they qualified for the World Series. Even if you are just jumping on the Cubs wagon now or are a die-hard Sox fan you have to admit this year, this team, is fun to watch.
Lake County Stores for Cubs Gear
Please note – not all stores will get championship items, they will just have standard Cub’s gear. Also remember this is a long time in the making and many, many, many stores will sell out very fast. It’s best to call ahead, offer to purchase over the phone and be prepared to drive around.

Clark Street Sports – locations in Gurnee Mills, Hawthorn Center and Northbrook Court
Clark Street Sports started in the early 90’s selling shirts out of bags surrounding Wrigley Field. The shop has grown from street vending to multiple retail outlets.

Forest Bootery – Libertyville and Lake Forest
Known mostly for it’s shoes it also carries stylish and retro Cubs gear, when available.

Long Grove Confectionery – Downtown Long Grove & Buffalo Grove
You can eat your Cubbies pride or put together an adorable gift with Cub’s teddy bears and their special Blue Chocolate Covered Blueberries.

Sprout Kids – Highland Park
The coolest kids will be sporting these adorable onesies. The also have hooded Cub’s towels from KoKo baby.

Green Kids Resale – Round Lake Beach
We’re not saying you won’t find gear there, it’s possible, but basically anything they get in that says Cubs goes out the same day so you need to be lucky. However if you have a kid that loves to build they have in stock NEW Oyo Sports kits of Chicago Cubs players and Ballpark Carts.

Lake Forest Book Store
They’re flying the flag in the window and they have a select amount of merchandise and all the books you could want to cherish the history of this iconic team.

BBQ’d Productions – Grayslake
If you would prefer to eat your feelings, head over to BBQ’d productions this weekend as they will be smoking goat daily and serving it up during the game.

Chain Stores
Obviously the big name chain stores are going to have the biggest selection and the largest inventory. When we asked our Super Fans these were the ones that they said are your best bets:
- Dick’s Sporting Goods – Vernon Hills & Deer Park
Hand’s down everyone’s favorite for the MLB licensed stuff and big selection - Gordman’s – Vernon Hills
- Kohl’s – Round Lake, Gurnee, Vernon Hills, Lake Zurich
- Target
- Wal-Mart
All of the above are great for general team merchandise and limited supplies of championship items. - Walgreen’s
W- flags, tattoos and stickers have all been spot here - Meijer – Round Lake Beach
You never know what or how much you will find
Of course even when you are shopping at a big name store you are still helping support the local families that work there.
A Few Online Options
We know, some of you want a specific size, style, etc. and you have no time to run from store to store to find it. Here are our top picks for getting your Cubs Gear online:
- Cubs.com
A no-brainer of course! - Wrigleyville Sports
Located across from the ballpark you are supporting a local Chicago business and they have pretty much anything you could want. Use code CUBBIES2016 for 15% off your order. - Etsy is full of fun and original items created by local artists. This tee shop is in Lake Geneva (so almost local!) and carries a tee featuring the W.
