Lakeside Moms & Tots – A playgroup for moms in the Lake Zurich Area

For many new moms out there, one of the biggest challenges to adjusting to motherhood is how isolated you feel. You are bound to your little ones’ schedule and you are desperate to meet other moms who are going through the same thing. Whether you work outside or stay at home, motherhood brings the need to connect with others and to be able to share your experiences. But often, connecting with and building friendships with other moms can be a daunting task. There is an easier way – look for a dedicated moms group in your area.

Here in Lake County, one option that stands out is Lakeside Moms and Tots which services the Lake Zurich area.  Anne Cunliffe,  is the current organizer of Lakeside Moms and Tots. Anne and her husband, Richard, moved their family to the area in 2012. When they got to the area, she was looking for a way to meet other moms and friends for her kids and found Lakeside Moms and Tots on Meetup.com.

Lakeside Moms & Tots was formed in 1988 for mothers and their young children in and around Lake Zurich. The group has thrived and has members from Lake Zurich, Kildeer, Deer Park, Long Grove, Hawthorn Woods, Barrington, Mundelein and Wauconda areas.

The mission of Lakeside Moms and Tots is to provide a social outlet for mothers, their children, and families through a range of activities giving members an opportunity to meet new people, share ideas and have fun. They ask that all their members be moms, but caregivers, grandparents and dads are welcome to attend events.

The group is a great way to make friends. There’s a range of activities for everyone (kid, adult and family-focused) and it’s also a great way to discover and visit new places. Anne says she and her husband have made friends for life through Lakeside Moms and Tots.

Some of Anne’s favorite events have been the Halloween parties, the family roller skating party and an ice cream social. Looking into 2016, the group has some great activities planned, including a craft play date, mom’s night out, play and learn at the library and some outdoor fun.
