As you clean up and make room for holiday gifts make sure you are aware of the change in landfill laws that go into effect on January 1 2012.

Effective January 1, 2012, per State law, landfills will no longer accept electronic items – televisions, computers, computer monitors, laptops, and more.

Additional banned electronic items into landfills will include:

Computers (including tablet computers)
Electronic Keyboards
Facsimile Machines
Videocassette Recorders
Portable Digital Music Players
Digital Video Disc Players
Video Game Consoles
Small Scale Servers
Scanners
Electronic Mice
Digital Converter Boxes
Cable Receivers
Satellite Receivers
Digital Video Disc Recorders
