Girls and adults are invited to join the fun and learn more about Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana at the following Girl Scout Open House Events:

Monday, September 21, 6-7:30 p.m.
Open House and Registration Event
Girl Scouts Vernon Hills Gathering Place, 650 Lakeview Parkway, Vernon Hills
During the open house, adults can talk to recruitment team members about starting or joining a troop as a volunteer, while girls can experience some of what Girl Scouts has to offer firsthand through fun and educational activities, including learning about STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) and participating in a craft. Attendees can also gather information about upcoming council-sponsored programs, such as camping, travel opportunities and field trips to local museums.

Wednesday, September 23, 6:30 p.m. – 7 :00 p.m.
Girl Scout Interest Night for kindergarten and first grade girls in the Gurnee, Grayslake, Hainesville and Wadsworth communities.

Woodland Intermediate School, 1115 Hunt Club Road, Gurnee
This event is for families interested in joining or learning more about the Girl Scout Daisy program.

Wednesday, September 30, 6:30 p.m. – 7 :00 p.m.
Girl Scout Interest Night for second and third grade girls in the Gurnee, Grayslake, Hainesville and Wadsworth communities.

Woodland Intermediate School, 1115 Hunt Club Road, Gurnee
This event is for families interested in joining or learning more about the Girl Scout Brownie program.

Sunday, October 11, 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Girl Scout Extravaganza, Lake Villa
For girls and families from the Antioch, Fox Lake, Lake Villa, Round Lake, Ingleside, Lindenhurst, & Volo communities to come find out more about what it is like to be a Girl Scout.

 

Girl Scouts is an amazing experience that both girls and adults will not forget,” said Carmen Evans, recruitment manager for Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana. “Girl Scouts provides girls with opportunities that successfully prepare them for life, as well as leadership skills and lifelong friendships that are truly priceless“. Girl Scouts is open to all girls from kindergarten through grade 12 and anyone over the age of 18 can become a Girl Scout volunteer.
