My secret dream is to be a Pinterest party planning wizard. I love to plan simple, yet creative and unique parties for myself and my kids. But every time I begin to party plan I get stuck on the invitations. Either they are boring and you just fill in the blank or they are custom and super expensive. THEN, you pay a fortune for postage and the invitation ends up buried under a pile on your guest’s counter or thrown away. I was thrilled when I was able to work with Ninoshka Lopez of My Little Coconuts online invitation studio for my girls’ joint birthday party. She is a local mom who “gets it”–her invitations reflect your ideas and style in a convenient online format.

When I first logged onto the website, I was a little confused. Where were the pre-packaged templates for me to choose from? Didn’t I have to pick a design that other people have used as well? Then I realized that My Little Coconuts is completely custom. Simply enter your information into the contact form, and a designer personally contacts you to create your online invitation. It’s so easy!

Once your personal designer e-mails you, you are able to send them party details and information, your own photos, and your choice of music. They then design the invitation for your specific event. Their graphics are even animated! The customer is provided with three edits to ensure that the invitation looks just the way you want it to. My Little Coconut’s customer service was incredibly prompt and attentive. I felt like I was working with a high-end design studio.

Probably the best advantage is the electronic ease. Once the electronic invitation is finalized, the customer is sent a personal website link that you can e-mail to your guests. You are even able to send the invite via text! You can utilize a custom Facebook event graphic as well. Several days before the event, My Little Coconuts sends a reminder to your guests to get them excited about your event. There is no postage, no chance of cards getting lost in the mail (or in a pile), and your guests won’t lose the party information and details since they are available electronically.
