Our good buddies at the Vernon Hills Park District will be offering craft activities for your little artists. If your big kids want to take advantage of the bocce, horseshoe, or baggo courts, see a Little Lake County “Roadie.” The Vernon Hills Park District is providing the equipment FREE of charge!

Why we’ve even got your morning snack covered. Our generous sponsor, Whole Foods Market Deerfield, will provide 365 Everyday Value® Fruit Strips to give your kids wholesome fuel while they rock the playground.

Here’s parking advice from our writer Maureen:
Century Park has three main parking areas to access. If you want to park close to the playground, I would recommend the parking lot which is on Lakeview, farther north of Hawthorn Parkway, very close to the railroad tracks. You will see two parking lots on Lakeview Parkway, one that is quite obvious near Hawthorn Parkway (with a restroom and access to the lake for fishing but far from the playground,) and the one I recommend which is farther north. The sign for this entrance can be hard to spot so keep your eyes open. If going north, the lot is on your left-right BEFORE the railroad tracks, so if you pass them you know you have gone too far. The third lot is located at the end of Indianwood and gives you access to the pavilion building and the sled hill.
Little Lake County and the Vernon Hills Park District crafts table will be set up between the parking lot (on Lakeview, farther north of Hawthorn Parkway, very close to the railroad tracks) and the playground.
V.I.K.’s (Very Important Kids) who received All-Access Tour Passes at Tour Stop #1 in Bowen Park should remember to bring them and have them validated by one of the Little Lake County “roadies.” Validate these “backstage passes” at 4 out of the 5 Tour Stops, and be entered into a drawing to win a $50 gift certificate to Kohl Children’s Museum in Glenview. Our limited supply of All-Access Passes was available ONLY at Bowen Park on Wednesday, July 23rd. No other passes will be available on the remaining tour dates.
