Little Reviews: Chocolate Leather

Chocolate Leather? Hmmm…sounds interesting, doesn’t it? I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical before I tried it, and I was not quite sure what to expect. However, I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty Chocolate Leather is!

Made in the USA by Manhattan Chocolates, Chocolate Leather comes in two flavors: milk chocolate and dark chocolate. Personally I think each of them is really delicious. My husband prefers the milk chocolate one and even though I do really like that one too, I thought the dark chocolate was just a smidge better.

The texture is more like a chewy toffee type of candy that is soft enough to take bites out of but not sticky enough to get stuck in your teeth. So really a win-win in my books! At only 50-60 calories per bar and low in sugar (only 4-5 grams), this is a great snack to satisfy a sweet craving without adding a lot of unnecessary calories and fat. I like how they are small enough to throw a few in my purse to take with us on the go.

Now just because they are chewy doesn’t mean they are really gooey, which is another thing I love. My toddler could hold the entire “leather” in her hand and she was not covered in gooey chocolate afterwards! In fact, her hands weren’t even sticky. They are great to throw into the kids’ lunches as well, and they are getting a yummy treat with not too many calories or sugar.
