Star Wars Day Events in Lake County

Even though Star Wars may be a year-round celebration in my house, May fourth is the official fan-created celebration nationwide.  Here in Lake County, there are many places where you can celebrate Star Wars Day and feel the force this May fourth. So put on your Jedi best and head to one of these free events in a galaxy not so far away.

4 May, All Day – Jedi Master Craft
Wauconda Area Library , 801 N. Main St., Wauconda
Become a part of the Jedi Order by crafting your own Jedi ears at the library.

4 May, 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. – May the Fourth Be With You
Culver’s, 1239 N. Route 83, Grayslake
Food for thought! Anyone wearing a Star Wars Costume will be entered into a drawing for a ticket to Regal Cinemas.  Mention Busy Brains Children’s Museum and a portion of your food purchase will benefit Busy Brains!

4 May, 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. – May the 4th Be With You
Lake Villa District Library, 1001 E. Grand Ave., Lindenhurst
Calling all young Star Wars fans! Make a craft, train like a Jedi, and defeat the Stormtroopers in a galaxy far, far away. No registration, just drop by!

4 May, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. – Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
Waukegan Public Library, 128 N. County St., Waukegan
Celebrate Star Wars Day with a special viewing of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. May the Fourth be with you!

4 May, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. – May the Fourth!
Fox Lake Library, 255 E. Grand Ave., Fox Lake
Wear your Star Wars costume and join the fun as we celebrate “May the Fourth be with you!” day in the Children’s Activity Center.

4 May, 6:00 – 8:15 p.m. – May the 4th Be With You: A Star Wars Story
Fremont Public Library, 1170 N. Midlothian Rd., Mundelein
Watch a special showing of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

6 May, 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.- Star Wars Celebration
Wauconda Area Library, 801 N. Main St., Wauconda
Celebrate with fun family activities including scavenger hunt, crafts, and photo booth. Assemble Spud Vader and create LED light sabers in our MakerSpace. Utilize our green screen for an epic cosplay photo op. See community members’ Star Wars Collections!
