Honoring Our Littlest Heroes- Month of the Military Child

month of april

Children from military families encounter a different set of challenges growing up.  Saying goodbye to a parent for months at a time during a deployment is one of their greatest battles.  Imagine moving on average six to nine times before graduating high school and having to say goodbye to childhood friends only after knowing them for a short while.  It is without a doubt when a serviceman or woman (and sometimes both in one family) sign-up to serve and protect our country, the entire family is making sacrifices for mom or dad’s career.  Currently, there are more than 1.2 million military children from all branches of service worldwide.  To honor these brave children and their sacrifices, inspiration, and contributions, April was declared the month of the military child and our own Lake County will be doing just that.  Below is a list of area businesses that offer ongoing discounts or special promotions during April.
