Slove Park in Lindenhurst is a traditional, in-town playground in a great location. Located just off Route 132 (Grand Avenue), the park is set back behind a McDonald’s restaurant and shares a parking lot with the Village Hall and Post Office. Also nearby is a gas station, CVS, Dunkin’ Donuts, Twisted Cow Custard Shop, and a few quick-service restaurants. It is the perfect park to incorporate into your errand schedule.

At the entrance to the park is Lindenhurst’s beautiful Veteran’s Memorial, which has a small fountain on the plaza. This makes for a nice little place to stroll with little ones.

The playground has four big-kid swings and two bucket swings, and multiple slides. There’s plenty of room for kids to run here, both on the mulched playground area and the large lawn surrounding it. My kids loved the large springy climbing coil and the spinning seat.

If you are cautious about heights, I’d say this playground is better for kids ages four and older because of the climbing features. Included at this park are spinning monkey bars, u-shaped climbing bars, a tall slide, fire pole, and a climbing wall. If you have a young, adventurous climber and it doesn’t make you too nervous, this is a good park to allow children to explore their climbing abilities. The structure isn’t too big or high, and all parts are accessible to parents on the ground.
