Follow the path unwinding to the new and improved Kids’ Castle at Deerpath Park in Vernon Hills — Outpost #4 on the Little Lake County Playground Safari presented by Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital.
On Wednesday, July 27, 2016 starting at 10:00 a.m., you will be able to experience the completely refurbished Kids’ Castle playground. Originally constructed as a community project in 1997, the playground has been reborn through a grassroots effort led by the Vernon Hills Park District and community leader, Amy Lamberti. The “Circle of Life” has indeed come full circle, and we now have a play palace that even Simba would be proud to call home! Maureen details all the improvements in her recent Kids’ Castle playground profile.

Our friends at the Vernon Hills Park District just can’t wait to welcome you. Their staff will be onsite to guide our young explorers in the creation of native arts and crafts. Take home your project fit for royalty!

Our special guest, Busy Brains Children’s Museum will bring their interactive traveling exhibits that encourage learning, motor skills, and discovery. You can support their Constructing Curiosity Capital Campaign to help open the doors to Lake County’s first children’s museum.

Our presenting sponsor, Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital has a sunburn-free philosophy, and will provide free travel-size bottles of sunscreen at each and every safari outpost (while supplies last.)

To fuel your jungle-gym exploits, look to our official snack sponsor KIND. We’ll be handing out KIND Healthy Grains Bars which contain five super grains and are gluten free and non GMO (while supplies last.)

DON’T FORGET to bring your donations of diapers and/or wipes for The Diaper Depot (a project of Catholic Charities Lake County Services), who will distribute these much-needed items to low-income families in our area. Opened packages are accepted.
