Playground Safari Outpost #5: Caboose Park, August 10th {Lake Villa}

Ride the rails to a playground adventure that will take you back in time at Lake Villa Township Park, on the Little Lake County Playground Safari presented by Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital.

PlaygroundSafariCabooseOn Wednesday, August 10, 2016 starting at 10:00 a.m., we’ll be going full steam ahead with the final playdate of our Playground Safari.  Lake Villa Township Park, commonly known as “Caboose Park” has wide open green spaces for stampeding children to explore.  Mom and Dad will be swept away with nostalgia from the old-school playground equipment such as tall metal slides, and my personal favorite, a vintage metal merry-go-round.

Next stop, the Cretaceous time period! Kids can travel even farther back than the 1970’s and hunt for fossils in the sandbox or climb the back of a stegosaurus.  Holly gives you details in her Caboose Park Playground Profile.

Lake Villa Township staff will be conducting an arts and craft station for young time travelers, safari explorers, and silly monkeys alike.  They are also generously hosting a hot-dog cookout for all our guests.  Celebrate the end of our thrilling safari adventures with a family picnic on the rolling, grassy plains of Caboose Park.

Update 8/8/16: Our special guest, Busy Brains Children’s Museum will be unable to attend our final outpost.  You can still support their Constructing Curiosity Capital Campaign to help open the doors to Lake County’s first children’s museum.
