Presidents’ Day Program at Elaine Frank Apachi Day Camp in Lake Zurich

What kid doesn’t need a healthy dose of summer fun smack in the middle of February to get rid of those cold weather blahs? Luckily, our friends at JCC Chicago’s Elaine Frank Apachi Day Camp have summer on their minds ALL YEAR LONG. Experts in all things creative and fun, the dedicated staff at Apachi J Camp has created a unique mini-camp experience taking place on Presidents’ Day, Monday, February 20 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

The program is designed for 1st -4th graders and includes activities led by expert staff, followed by a pizza lunch. Each child chooses a mini camp and, trust us, there is something for everyone! The Clay Monet Art Specialty will offer two projects: painting ceramics and making charms. Science lovers can explore electricity with games and experiments all led by Noggin Builders. Sports obsessed kids will love Golf and Sports, a chance to learn swinging and putting techniques and time to enjoy other high-energy, non-competitive games with Chicago School of Golf.

“We’re offering Presidents’ Day Mini Camp to not only help parents fill their kids’ schedule with a meaningful experience on a day off, but to give campers a taste of camp during the school year,” said Jennifer Berkson Zislis, Director of Elaine Frank Apachi Day Camp in Lake Zurich. “It’s also a chance for anyone who wants to give camp a try to come see what we’re all about. Kids can experience all the fun of camp and meet some of our staff before the countdown to summer begins.”

Presidents’ Day Mini Camp is actually a condensed version of the weeklong June Mini Camps offered at Elaine Frank Apachi between school and camp (June 12- June 16; 9:30am-2:30pm). The week in June allows families to get a jump start on summer with special programming. Or, it’s a fun opportunity for any kid to experience a week of camp at Apachi. June Mini Camp offers Art, Science and Sports specialties in the morning and afternoons of lunch, camp games and swimming in the beautiful outdoor pool.
