There is just something about bowling that brings back childhood memories with my grandparents. The smoky lanes, dropping six-pound balls on the vinyl floor and the feeling of accomplishment–even if I only got a few pins down. Nothing really beats it, and bowling is still a family favorite.

Bowling in Lake County
2616 Washington Street, Waukegan | (847) 244-1300
The first time I bowled had to have been at Bertrand and I’m not sure much has changed. Bertrand is truly an old-time experience from the decor to the staff (although you don’t have to keep score on paper and pencil). The workers and owners are kind, the lanes are fast, the pizza great pizza and also offer billiards. For an affordable bowling experience, Bertrand’s is definitely a place to check out!
Kristof’s Entertainment Center
421 West Rollins Road, Round Lake Beach | (847) 546-2512
An updated bowling alley with comfortable seating and plenty more to do makes Kristof’s an awesome place to explore! They boast a beautiful alley with everything a family needs to enjoy a night or day out. With a full service bar and pool tables, it becomes an 18 and older crowd after 10:00 p.m. on most nights. They also offer mini golf, go karts, batting cages and an arcade to round out your experience.
601 Railroad Avenue, Round Lake | (847) 546-2800
Don’t judge this alley by its outer appearance. Lakes has been fully renovated and the welcoming staff makes you feel as though you bowl here every week. With leagues, pool, Baggo and a great bar, the atmosphere is exactly what we’re looking for in a small town! I’ve bowled here many times and feel like I’m hanging out with old friends, despite everyone being perfect strangers.
900 South Lake Street, Mundelein | (847) 949-5700
Currently under renovation to bring in laser tag, Lakeside Lanes is stocked with ramps to help little bowlers enjoy their experience to the fullest. Friendly staff welcome you to this home town alley that’s been around as long as I can remember. It is clean and the customer service is excellent. Only want to bowl one game? The game room, bar, updated menu, billiards and slot machines are sure to fill your time!
Now that you have a list of great alleys to visit, head out and enjoy a game or two of bowling with your family. It is so much fun!
