Barbecue Beef Brisket Recipe

Country cooking is all about slow cooking.  Simmering food for 12 hours, spending all day cooking, and sitting down at the end of the day to see others enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Realistically, who has time for that?

The good news is that you can fake that all day long cooking taste, in a matter of a few hours.

When I think country, I think barbeque. Here is my favorite Barbecued Brisket recipe, straight from my kitchen to yours.

  1. Place brisket in a large dutch oven (or any large pot with a lid) Add 1/2 cup water. Cover and bake at 325 degrees for 1- 1 1/2 hours.
  2. Meanwhile, in a medium saucepan coated with nonstick cooking spray, saute the onions and garlic until tender. Add ketchup, vinegar, lemon juice, brown sugar, Worchestershire sauce, cornstarch, paprika, chili powder, pepper, and remaining water.
