Tasty Tuesday: Kitchfix – Real Food That Delivers

Let’s redefine what it means to “eat healthy.”

For too long in the psyche of our culture it has meant deprivation, sacrifice, and indeed malnutrition!  We’ve taken the fat out of everything, and replaced it with high-fructose corn syrup and artificial flavors. We’re so busy getting rid of fat and calories, that we’ve thrown the baby out with the bath water and we’ve lost flavor and nutrition too.

Chef Josh Katt proposes a different path… follow the almond meal crumbs down the road to Kitchfix, a superfood meal delivery service based out of Chicago.

With over 12 years in the restaurant industry, Chef Josh knows food, but more importantly, his experience as a personal chef taught him about nutrition.  In 2010, he was hired as a personal chef to a family that followed the Anti-Inflammatory Diet which focuses on whole, unprocessed foods such as fresh, organic fruits, vegetables, and meats.

Chef Josh understands that food is medicine, and what our bodies crave are nutrients!  It’s not about “dieting” it’s about giving your body the best fuel possible.  With a holistic-minded registered dietician on staff, you can feel confident that nutrition is a priority at Kitchfix.  They like to say..

When we add so much good, there’s no room for the bad!

But if we’re going to talk about how Kitchfix makes locally-sourced, organic, nutrient-dense meals convenient, we can’t leave out talking about snacks. Sometimes you just itch for something. When the snack craving takes hold, we’ll reach for any old thing in the pantry which can derail even the most valiant clean-eating efforts.  That’s why Kitchfix Paleo Granola is my new obsession!

You can find it in new flavors like Berries & Cherries and Peaches & Pistachios at your local Whole Foods Market or the Original flavor at Mariano’s under the former label “CJK Foods.”  Regardless of the label, it’s the same awesome stuff in a slightly different package.  If you are trying to avoid grains, processed sugars, or artificial ingredients, Kitchfix (CJK Foods) Paleo Granola hits your snack spot.  It’s completely Paleo-compliant even when I forget to be!  Plenty of companies like to throw around the term “highest quality ingredients,” but Kitchfix walks the walk.  Their granola is slow roasted in coconut oil and sweetened with real maple syrup. Few commercially-produced snack items can make that claim. Packed with fiber, healthy fats, and clean protein, it’s the evolution of granola – perfected.  And it’s pretty damn delicious too.  Get in mah belly!
