Trick-or-Treat Trails in Lake County

12 October 1:00 p.m. Trick or Treat Path
{Gurnee} $5 residents; $10 non-resident and at the door
Trick or treat through Viking Park with nearly 50 of your favorite friendly characters. This event is held outdoors – please dress for the weather. Recommended for children ages 1-6.

17 October 5:30 p.m. Pumpkin Fest
{Grayslake} $8 in advance, $13 day of. Adult attendance is free with a paying child. Trick-or-treat on the character trail, participate in the costume contest, ride hayrides, bounce in the bounce houses, and more!

25 October 5:00 p.m. Trail of Treats

{Zion} Kids will trick or treat through Shiloh Park starting at the 27th Street tennis courts and ending at the Leisure Center for a Halloween Party hosted by Zion Park District. In addition to the trick or treat trail, there will be a Halloween festival with fair games, face painting, a hayride, and a bouncing chamber.

26 October 1:00 p.m. Trick or Treat Trail

{Waukegan} Walk the trail of professionally costumed loved and feared characters and scenes along a walking path. The ghouls, monsters, and wildlife know you must stay on the path, so don’t fear the fantastic fun that awaits. Children will receive Halloween treats along the way. Costumes are encouraged. For ages 2 and older.

27 October 11:30 p.m. Trick-or-Treat Trail
FREE INDOORS

{Buffalo Grove} You never know who you will see at our Trick-or-Treat Trail! Friendly characters will line the path to hand out candy and small prizes to children. This event is a no scare zone, and parents must accompany children during this event.

31 October 4:00 p.m. Halloween Haunted Trail
FREE
{Bannockburn} Trick or Treaters of all ages are invited to wear their Halloween costumes and walk the “Haunted Trail” thru the park behind the Village Hall (don’t worry this will not be scary). Volunteers will be stationed along the trail giving out treats to the children.

{Lake Bluff} Trunk or Treat is a community event that allows a safe environment for children to trick or treat! Children are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes as well.

19 October 11:00 a.m. Trucks, Trunks, & Treats
{Vernon Hills} $3 per child, Children younger than two are admitted for free. Come in your costumes and hop aboard community vehicles at this fun touch-a-truck event with a twist. Candy will be handed out at each truck.

25 October 6:00 p.m. Trunk-or-Treat
Registration Required FREE INDOORS
{Island Lake} In the Village of Island Lake Gymnasium. This event includes games, contests, and prizes. Children must pre-register with the village; the cost is $5 per child.

11 October 4:00 p.m. Great Highwood Pumpkin Fest
{Highwood} Daily admission is $3/day
Activities include trick or treating, costume contests, hayrides, a petting zoo, kids crafts, pony rides, live music, carnival rides, food and beverage vendors galore and more.

11 October 7:00 p.m. Trick or Tween Halloween
INDOORS
{Lake Zurich} $10 residents; $12 non-residents.
Tweens ONLY event! Monsters will be mashing to the beats of The Great Boodini DJ, goblins will be feasting on tons of pizza and fairies will be playing tons of tricky games with attendees!

19 October 2:00 p.m. Great Pumpkin Celebration
FREE Indoors
{Round Lake} Area businesses will be on-site for safe, indoor trick-or-treating. In addition, there will be other activities including face painting, carnival games, bounce house – even an outdoor hayride and corn maze! For the youngest ones, a not-so-scary trick-or-treat walk will be available in the Children’s Neighborhood Museum.

26 October 3:30 p.m. Mundelein Boo Bash
FREE {Mundelein} A free Halloween themed event with the entire family. Other activities include games and prizes, bounce house, and more. Parental supervision is required of all children.

26 October 6:00 p.m. Fall Fest
Registration Required INDOORS
{Vernon Hills} Registration fee is $3 per person. This event features indoor trick-or-treating, balloon art, blacklight dance party, and the annual costume contest. Refreshments will be available for purchase.  This event will sell out, so be sure to buy your tickets early!

28 October 4:00 p.m. Halloween Howl

{Fox Lake} Join the Village of Fox Lake Police Department to celebrate Halloween. Your family will get to meet members of the Fox Lake Police Department, enjoy treats, hot dogs, bouncy houses, hot chocolate, hayrides, and candy apples.
