This post is part of a promotional exchange with The Therapy Tree.
You may know of The Therapy Tree in Lake Villa as a comprehensive center for children’s Physical, Occupational, Speech and Language, Feeding and Swallowing Therapy. However, their commitment to total body and family wellness goes beyond these traditional therapies. The Wellness Center at the Therapy Tree offers whole body group and individual wellness programs for adults and children in a beautiful and airy loft setting.
In January I held an event at the facility (it’s a beautiful space to rent for conferences and parties) and got to experience all that the Wellness Center has to offer. Located upstairs from the main Therapy offices the Wellness Center has a large open Great Room Space. This space is where the group classes take place. The facility also has a smaller therapy room for individual sessions as well as massages and esthetician services.
During our event, we got to experience a full yoga class taught by Patricia Lutz. This was a great beginner class that she referred to as restorative yoga. We had a large class, 16 people, and everyone felt like they got personalized attention. Patricia does a wonderful job of explaining the poses and how they should feel as well as modifying the poses for individuals based on their own health and body conditions. We had everything from recent knee surgeries, new yogis, pregnant moms, and experienced yogis participate and everyone walked away feeling refreshed and relaxed.
We also had the chance to try out their massage and facials services. I personally did not get to, I was working as well as being very pregnant. Everyone who did participate could not complete the service enough! From some of the attendees:
She literally cured my neck issue in one day and my shoulders finally relaxed to below my ears. I think too the best part was the fireplace, and the mood of the room. It was so relaxing I practically melted the moment I hit the massage table. My therapist knew her stuff too, I’m an athlete and have terrible issues with over-pronated shoulders she loosened them up for me so I could have better range of motion.~ Brook
The therapist tailored my massage to help with the sinus problems that I was suffering from, and did a complete facial massage in addition to working on my neck and shoulders. She included aromatic oils to help relieve congestion. It was a wonderfully relaxing experience.~Jennifer
Everyone at the Therapy Tree was kind and welcoming and very helpful. They did everything the could to make our event a success! I can’t wait to go back and try out their Mommy and Me yoga.
