Three for Free – Neighborhood Toy Store Day Events {10 November}

LLC3FreeButton,  M. Haak | Little Lake | 2012
This Saturday is the 3rd Annual Neighborhood Toy Store Day.

“The American Specialty Toy and Retailing Association (ASTRA) established Neighborhood Toy Store Day to introduce families to the fun of shopping at local toy stores and to celebrate each retailer’s commitment to the community. “

This Saturday local toy stores across the country will be hosting events to invite families to come into their store and see what they have to offer. “According to the 3/50 Project, for every $100 spent in local, independently-owned stores, $68 returns to the community in the form of taxes, salaries, charitable contributions and more— in contrast with only $43 when consumers spend their money at a national chain.”* So while the activities and fun times are free, why not get some early holiday shopping done while you’re there?

(Glitter Tattoos will cost $1, but all money collected will be donated to the local VA Hospital) Finally, any purchase for $20 or more will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win a free toy!
The highlight of the event will be a visit from Santa! Santa will be available for pictures, so parents will want to bring their cameras!
It’s not all fun and games though, there is a good cause attached! Snickelfritz Toys will be donating 10% of all sales on November 10th to The Captain James A. Lovell Federal Healthcare Center, our local VA Hospital.
They will also be having a Candy Collection for our troops. Families are encouraged to bring their extra Halloween candy and it will be sent to our troops serving around the world.
