It was definitely all hands on deck at the grand opening of the new Trader Joe’s in Libertyville {1600 S Milwaukee Ave}. Despite the brisk winds, I was able to find a parking space quickly and made my way to the sounds of live Caribbean music in the entryway.{Music provided by Todd Donnelly. Mr. Myers Band}

Once inside, rows of shiny red shopping carts and employees donned in familiar Hawaiian shirts and leis cheerfully offered directions and help. The store was busy, but the rows of brightly colored flowers, shelves of neatly stacked produce, and row after row of provisions diverted everyone’s attention from the crowd.

The sample station was stocked with mandarin orange chicken, sugar snap peas, and plenty of juice. Children waited to have their hands painted with colorful flowers or a picture of their favorite food. Eager to add to my pantry, I stocked up on my favorite coffees, snacks, and organic bread. I am delighted to have this store and its wide variety of wholesome and interesting foodstuffs available within a short drive from my house and centrally located in Lake County. I can’t wait to liven up my meal selections with new and delicious products and fresh produce.
