My youngest daughter was born with a song in her. She dances all over the house, leaping and twirling, begging for “graham cracker music” (that would be The Nutcracker for those that don’t speak toddler). She’s obsessed with ballet but i was not interested in becoming a dance mom. Last summer we visited the Dance Academy of Libertyville for their open house and we fell in love.
I love try-it programs and open houses simply to give my kids the chance to try out new things. I went in with just that attitude, she would try a class and get the experience and we would wait a few years before committing to a class.
My daughter had a great time and we did end up signing up for classes. The staff is friendly and the classes are really fun for the kids combining skills and proper form (and French names!) with fun games. Here’s a little clip from our open house session last summer:
