Move over powdered mixes, there is a new kid in town!
If you have spent even five-minutes on social media in the last few weeks you have probably seen the videos of delicious sphere’s of chocolate melting open and relieving marshmallows and other surprises. They are the food trend of the year and you are going to want to pick some up ASAP to brighten an otherwise blah holiday season.
Where to Buy Hot Chocolate Bombs in Lake County
If you are handy in the kitchen you can grab some molds and try to make these yourself – there are dozens of tutorials online. I, on the other hand, will be purchasing from one of the below locations.
Uniquely Sweet – Grayslake
The chocolatiers of Uniquely Sweet are whipping up hot chocolate bombs and even shipping them! Find them in-store, at Something’s Brewing or call and reserve your flavors and quantities (847-548-0001)
Sunshine Cookies – Hainesville
December orders open on November 28 and will require pick-up between December 9 and 24. Seasonal flavors are milk chocolate, white chocolate, and peppermint.
Twisted Sifter – Antioch
Writer Cindy swears these are the best you can get! Choose from traditional, Mexican hot chocolate, peppermint, caramel macchiato, unicorn, Grinch, and magic snowball.
Whisks & Sprinkles – Lindenhurst
Local delivery is available Friday – Sunday and custom flavors and designs are available upon request. Current flavors are milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white chocolate, salted caramel, peppermint, and funfetti.
Tori’s Toffee – Lake Zurich
Known for her toffee Tori is venturing into the chocolate bomb business as well. Contact them for flavors and ordering information.
We know that there are many other, larger stores that may carry these as well. 2020 has been hard on local businesses and we encourage you to buy these locally.
